Peta-PSA

Happy April everyone,

I want to share a photo still from a PSA I shot for Peta back in January. The PSA brings attention to the notorious conditions that chickens are kept in before being slaughtered for food. I have not worked on a horror film yet but this is the closest I've come to shooting one.

It was a bitterly cold day in New York with snow still heavily on the ground and I had to travel to Queens for this shoot. When I finally got there I was greeted with a dirty, freezing cold (it felt colder inside then outside) derelict factory! We were shooting in the basement. I went straight into hair and make-up, this is where my transformation began. Fake blood, bruises around my eyes and backcombed hair. Then the make-up artist decided I looked too pretty so added more fake blood to my nose. With a nude thong and pasties I was ready to be a terrified chicken in a tiny cage in deplorable conditions. Literally.

It was so cold at one point I was ready to cry. The PSA is in your face and shot by director Llyod Kaufman. I am told it will be ready in May. I am happy that I committed myself to this and hope it makes a difference.
